Robot Is The Future x Transformers

At midnight tonight, the third Transformers movie hits theaters. The guys over at Robot Is The Future are releasing a special t-shirt line to commemorate this momentous event in the world of transforming robot films. (they also have a Terminator line that will be released at the same time.) These shirts will be available at midnight tonight.

Check these out, their iconic robot done up like G1 Optimus Prime & Devastator:

At one point I had all of the Constructicons and could assemble Devastator, although there always seemed to be one or two pieces that were missing and/or broken. And I remember him being really wobbly whenever he was fully assembled. These t-shirts are guaranteed to be un-wobbly and contain all necessary parts.

Scott Boras, by Jim Cooke

Check out this great new illustration of sports agent Scott Boras by our friend Jim Cooke, appearing in a new article on Deadspin.

Not familiar with Jim? Then you’re missing out. Take a look at more of his work at jimcookeillustration.com.

Robot phone sex

I’m into robots, but not quite this much… animated by Dan Meth from a real prank call to a phone sex line. (Potentially NSFW for some borderline-dirty language…)

It’s going to be an ugly 2010

Congrats to our friend Devin Clark… he masterminded a show for Comedy Central, Ugly Americans, which is scheduled to premiere in the first quarter of 2010.

from Comedy Central:

Developed and executive produced by David Stern (“The Simpsons”), “Ugly Americans” (working title) is a half-hour animated series based on an original idea by illustrator Devin Clark, who will serve as a producer. “Ugly Americans” takes place in an alternate universe New York City where creatures from horror, fantasy and science-fiction live among us as ordinary citizens. Mark Lilly, a human social worker for the Department of Immigration, helps new citizens, both human and fantastic, adapt to life in the Big Apple. When he’s not helping warlocks, land-whales, vampires and man-birds adjust to human society, Mark is trying to keep his own life in check. Unfortunately, his zombie roommate, wizard boss and demon girlfriend can’t always be relied upon for help. Dan Powell is the executive in charge of production for COMEDY CENTRAL.

I managed to get a sneak peek of the pilot, and it’s really funny. Mark your calendars!

beastie boys and the roots

I was holding off on this post all day, hoping that a better-quality version would appear online, (assuming it would come from NBC,) but no such luck. so hey, I’m posting this not-so-great-audio-quality video of the Beasties performing So What’cha Want with The Roots on Jimmy Fallon last night. Pretty hot…

Paul’s Boutique @ 20

ok, this post isn’t about a site I did, but a site I’m a fan of. Paul’s Boutique is 20 years old now, the Beastie Boys have a brand new site for it. Hot hot stuff here. Plenty of things to play with and explore. I really dig it.

And you can make your own Paul’s Boutique trading cards to commemorate your old-time experiences with the album. I added the drawing I did in high school. (which is still hanging, framed in my high school, as far as I know?)

go get that remastered Boutique!

Softwear

Went to a “Microsoft party” last night… They’re putting out a t-shirt line, and Common designed some shirts for it. Microsoft seemed to be trying really hard to be cool. One of the displays was a big timeline of hip hop and Microsoft history, trying to link the two. Featuring a mug shot from when Bill Gates got arrested as a teenager. (street cred!)

The highlight of the night (aside from meeting Common, of course!) was watching Common perform UMC and freestyle with Biz Markie.

here are some photos I took, and a video that I did not take…

thanks val!
